Please Spoon Me

I love paper. Scrapbook paper, note cards, wrapping paper, you name it. I've got plenty of craft stores, high end stationers, paperies in my area. Shoot, I'm even one of the lucky ones with a Paper Source store in close proximity. But still, when I come across an invitation company, letterpress expert or design studio that I haven't heard of before, you can bet your Oliver Bolliver Butt that I will check it out. Because I look through sooo many sites each week, I don't even remember how I happened upon Paper+Cup Design in the first place. It could have been via Design Sponge or in any one of the national magazines they have been featured in. In any case, I found them. Their paper designs are truly amazing. Their custom work is adorable, nontraditional, modern and totally unique. But what I cam unglued about was their wooden utensils and old fashioned, yet totally new ice cream spoons, recently seen in The Knot magazine. They are made of Birch and are very similar to the ones that Sprinkles uses at their cupcakes shops and how can you not love anything related to cupcakes!? The best part? You can customize them!!! Although this item is on the higher side of items I would purchase for each of my parties (orders are minimum of 50 pieces and are sold by utensil type not as a set, which when customized equals $87.50 per utensil type), they would be perfect for your next extra special occasion. Did your best friend plan all your wedding related parties, your baby shower and second baby sprinkle? Then you can certainly spring for customized utensils for her next big party to show her how special she is to you. It is these little extras that really elevate your party to the varsity level. Cut costs in other ways. Serve water with cucumber and thyme sprigs and one signature cocktail instead of a whole host of drinks. Jazz up a cake you bake from a box with some edible flowers and put what you have would have spent on a custom bakery cake towards the custom utensils. They also offer blank utensils ($8.50 for 10 forks). Check out the rest of their site and party ideas will instantly fill your head. I am in love with the Old School flat cards. They would be perfect for the party I'm planning in my head for my friend who is a kindergarten teacher. I can see it now. A raucous bachelorette party themed "Love School" with customized wooden ice cream spoons...and red apples and black boas...a customized "dunce" hat for the guest of honor...
