In Chris' own words -
Casual Fiesta with Friends
I created this inspiration board with the idea of a casual dinner party with friends. I love the classic banner style in the invitation so it was necessary to mimic that in the overall design, as well as the color scheme. This party is traditionally festive without being too kitschy.
Begin by setting a beautiful table with a bold stripe runner, colorful lanterns and bright flowers. Add pizzazz to each place setting with a tissue flower napkin ring. Serve a selection of signature cocktails for the evening, each in a different color or flavor. Tie colorful ribbon around the end of a stir stick or wooden skewer, to be used as a drink adornment or as a pick to grab a small bite of cheese or other appetizer. Speaking of food, serve some hors d'oeuvres that are as colorful as the decor. Shown here are veggies sticks with their own bread bowl full of dip, and a colorful display of fruit.
Set up the dessert table on a lovely chest of drawers or console, with a banner hanging above it as a focal point. I love to serve individual desserts so guests don't feel guilty about trying more than one. Brownie pops, mini parfaits in shot glass, and tiny tartlets are some of my favorites, and make a stunning presentation.

As usual, Chris has put together a party that I really want to be at. And Lisa Hu's invite was the perfect inspiration piece and I can't wait to see when she debuts her new website (keep checking back!)
Come back tomorrow to see who our October challenge participants are!
